Since 2005 Action Against Hunger has been working to tackle the issues of malnutrition and health, food insecurity and livelihoods, mental health, care practices, water, sanitation and hygiene, and disaster risk mitigation, and climate change with a focus on most vulnerable and hard to reach communities recurrently affected by natural hazards or complex emergencies in Sindh, KP, and Baluchistan. Our dual mandate constitutes of emergency response and addressing the underlying causes of hunger. We have been at the forefront of disasters and emergency responses in hard to reach communities and responded to the evolving needs experienced by the most vulnerable communities. As part of enhancing disaster readiness of the Action Against Hunger Country program and its local partners, Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan is in place and updated annually, which outlines major disasters in the country, response strategy and readiness plan. We are also actively engaged in the disaster architecture in Pakistan through the Pakistan Humanitarian Forum, and Start Network, and implemented anticipatory actions for impending crises. We are among the top five actors engaged in tackling malnutrition for a long-term, sustainable and at scale impact. We have implemented several nutrition-specific programs in Pakistan by adopting a multi-sectoral approach. 

Your position and responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to support high-quality program delivery and ensure the successful implementation of ongoing projects.

The position will contribute to strengthening ACF Pakistan’s strategic positioning for business development, while fostering and maintaining strong partnerships with local organizations.

In addition, the role will focus on enhancing leadership capacities within the program team, particularly supporting the Head of Programs, Deputy Head of Programs, MEAL team, and Program Development Manager.

 

In this context, your missions will be to  :

 

  • Strengthen program quality and efficiency

 

  • Support business development and positioning

 

  • Strengthen technical strategy and program design quality

 

  • Strengthen partnerships and localization

 

  • Strengthen leadership capacity of program teams

 

  • Acting Country Director (when required).

Your profile

You hold a Master’s degree (or a Bachelor’s degree combined with substantial international and field experience), in International Relations, Development Studies, Public Health, or another technical discipline relevant to ACF’s programs. 

You have at least 5 years of experience  in leading development and humanitarian programs portfolio in challenging contexts.

You have prior experience as DCD Programs and technical knowledge of health, nutrition, FSL or WASH is desired, with a strong preference for health and nutrition. A previous experience with ACF is a great asset. 

You have  experienced with all stages of project cycle management including participatory tools and methodologies.

You have good management skills, strong multitasking abilities.

You have advanced knowledge of donor guidelines and procedures (ECHO, UN donors, FCDO, etc.) and you are particularly skilled in diplomatic, negotiation, and communication.

You speak and write English fluently, with strong drafting abilities.

Your employment conditions

Fixed term contract under French legislation: 6 months


  • Monthly gross salary from 2899 to 3376€ upon experience, including 13th month

 

  • Reimbursement of the pension insurance for non-French citizens: 16% of the gross monthly salary

 

  • Annual salary increase: 6% increase after and each 12 months of continuous contract

 

  • Monthly per diem and living allowance: 519 usd net, field paid

 

  • Monthly country allowance: 300€

 

  • Child allowance: 1500€ per year per child present in the country of origin (maximum 6000€/year)

 

  • Transportation and accommodation: Coverage of transportation costs and guest house

 

  • Medical coverage: ACF covers 100% of the health and repatriation insurance agreement fees, for your medical expenses, and up to 1 month after the end of your contract.

 

  • Salary sustainment measures (sickness, paternity, maternity)

 

  • Leaves and RnR: 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year, airfare reimbursement with a ceiling to get to the chosen break destination, and 215 € for each RnR period
