ACF started working in Myanmar in 1994 on treatment and prevention of malnutrition. ACF is currently implementing and developing projects addressing malnutrition, mental health and care practices, Gender & Protection, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene promotion, nutrition security and disaster risk reduction through an integrated approach. After the covid and the military seized the power within the three years, the country economics situation is worsen day by day. The difficult economic situation has severely affected household welfare and increased vulnerability.   

ACF Myanmar has one hundred and ninety-two national staff and 6 expatriates. Some of the grants are still waiting to get the approval from Donors so the employment contract follow up is the important things to do with monthly basic. All the new contracts are practicing with fixed term contract type that is in line with the social model.

We are looking for our new Nutrition and Health Expert - Health Assessment, based in Chiang Mai, Thailand and remotely working for Myanmar country office.

Under the supervision of the Head of Nutrition and Health Department, you will co lead for ACF with WFP and other IAWG stakeholders the bi-annual NVA (Nutrition Vulnerability Analysis) process in Myanmar, in February/March for the first round and July/ August for the second round.

More precisely, your missions will be to :

• Compile  secondary data prior to the NVA

• Develop/ adapt questionnaire for KII

• Train  selected partners for roll out of data collection

• Design analysis matrix tool

• Facilitate  the cross sectoral analysis meetings for each regions/townships

• Input findings in analysis matrix

• Produce final reports

You hold a Master's Degree in Nutrition, Statistics or Epidemiology with a significant experience (5 years) in managing nutrition assessments, research and surveys in humanitarian context.

You have strong expertise in NVA methodology, qualitative data, and proven ability to produce  analysis, evaluatation  and monitoring.

You have experience with external representation and knowledge of Nutrition Cluster mechanisms as well as in conflict-related displacements and nutrition crisis contexts. A working experience in Myanmar or the region is a plus.

You are able to work in a mainstreamed manner and analyze/capitalize institutionalized information. With good diplomatic and negotiation skills, you are disciplined and able to work and arrive at decisions autonomously and with minimal guidance.

You are fluent in English with excellent verbal and written skills.

• Position based in Chiang Mai (Thailand) and remotely working for Myanmar

• Fixed term contract under French legislation: 4 months

• Monthly gross salary from 2597 to 2968€ upon experience

• Reimbursement of the pension insurance for non-French citizens: 16% of the gross monthly salary

• Annual salary increase: 6% increase after and each 12 months of continuous contract

• Monthly per diem and living allowance: 661€ net, field paid

• Child allowance: 1500€ per year per child present in the country of origin (maximum 6000€/year)

• Transportation and accommodation: Coverage of transportation costs and accommodation

• Medical coverage: ACF covers 100% of the health and repatriation insurance agreement fees, for your medical expenses (as well as your dependents if you have a family post), and up to 1 month after the end of your contract.

• Leaves and RnR: 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year, airfare reimbursement with a ceiling to get to the chosen break destination, and 215 € for each RnR period

Since the coup d'état in February 2021, the delivery of visas for international humanitarian staff has been extremely restricted. Over 2021 and 2022, the international team settled in Bangkok, Thailand. As of August 2022, the international team is living in Chiang Mai, in a mountainous and charming city in the north of Thailand. Staff are expected to have a high level of self-support as there is no support staff in Chiang Mai. Staff members are responsible for finding their own accommodation and paying their utility bills, for which a monthly allowance will be paid.

The conflict in Myanmar is a forgotten conflict. However ACF's projects are life-saving. ACF is recognized as a leader in nutrition and MHPSS and its projects have a unique integrated approach.
